So PPI organized itself, applied for a patent,
filed the trademark, and gathered an experienced industry team
to make Pruner’s Pal available to other people with a gap in
their tool kits.
PPI kept it simple, with just one moving part in the
actuating system. PPI’s design has (1) an injection-molded can
holder and actuating arm, (2) an extendable fiberglass pole,
and (3) a durable fiberglass-and-nylon operating lanyard. They
also made and included an optional-use operating handle for
people who prefer a “trigger” to pull the lanyard.
PPI made The Pal flexible, to adjust, without tools, to
a variety of aerosol cans. They designed it to spray sealer
from button-top cans, and insecticides and paint from cans
with flat pads or finger-shaped tops.
PPI made The Pal tough, durable and reliable. They made
it of injection-molded plastic, fiberglass, a steel nut, bolt,
pin and clip, and a lanyard with a fiberglass core and a nylon
sheath. The Pal will last. PPI’s reliability goals were all
met.
PPI tested The Pal with
do-it-yourselfers and professionals from foresters, arborists,
and a tree pathologist. They all judged it a winner. It is now
available in selected stores in Texas, and elsewhere through
this website. |
